AVOID THIS CSXT $600 PER CAR CHARGE

If you own a rail car mark/initial be sure to read this blog or you could be paying $600 extra per car to CSXT.

CSXT has announced that effective June 1, 2018, any privately owned railcar shipped on CSXT which has no approved and active OT-5 will be subject to a penalty charge of $600 per car. No one wants to pay anything extra so why get stuck with this charge? How can you avoid this penalty?

OT-5 is a published circular from the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Operating & Transportation Division (OT) which requires private car owners to obtain approval from the originating carrier before placing such cars into service on their line. This rule is not new. But the penalty charge is unprecedented and very significant.

Do you have OT-5 approval for all your private cars that could potentially be subject to this charge?

To avoid penalties act now. Don’t pay $600 per car unnecessarily.
